The next educational app that I’m going to talk about is Monkey
Math School Sunshine allows your child to build fundamental math skills while
they are endlessly entertained. Your child will count, add and sort their way
through engaging games with uninterrupted play. For ages 3 to 6 (I would
actually go higher in age). 9 interactive games that teach kids about
sequencing, patterning, counting, adding and subtracting. With very little
interface, your child presses one button to immediately launch into
uninterrupted play. Uses Knack™ Technology to instinctively adjust the
challenge levels to each individual player. Irresistibly cute monkey guides the
children through game play with animated celebrations for correct answers and
gentle redirection for incorrect ones (more like a hint to give them the
answer). Kids collect rewards in their Animated
Aquarium. Uninterrupted and unlimited play: game continues as long as the player
desires. Add it up and Take it away- Use your addition and subtraction skills to
solve math problems. Trusty animated crab assistants supply multiple-choice options;
Patterns- Monkey has a problem: Objects keep popping out if his bucket,
creating a pattern - but one piece is missing! Help the monkey by completing
the pattern with the choices provided, Shapes- Is it an octagon? Or maybe a
hexagon? Count each side of these shapes to help Monkey figure it out, Sequences-
Monkey has a group of numbers in the right order, but some are missing. Help
him complete the sequence with the correct numbers, Less/More- Monkey loves to
blow bubbles, but when he does, groups of shells, fish or turtles are inside
each bubble! Use your expertise to figure out which bubble has either the most
or least objects inside, Bigger/Smaller- Which bubble has the bigger number?
Which bubble has the smaller one? Help Monkey figure it out by popping the correct
bubble, Connect the dots- Baby Turtle is stuck on the beach and she needs your
help to get to the sea! Connect the dots to show her which way to go, Write it
up!- Help Monkey identify numbers by tracing them in the sand, Bubble pop- Monkey
is running out of time! Pop all the bubbles that have either the right number
or the right amount of objects inside before the time runs out! This app is
available on amazon at the price of $1.99. It’s available on Google play at the
price of $1.99. It is available on iTunes at the price of $1.99.

Eggy Words
The next educational app that I’m going to talk about is
called Eggy Words. I just started using this app with my nephew as they are sight
words that are on eggs that he will be learning and using. Eggy Words 250HD is
an application designed to help children recognize and learn sight words. Sight
words are words that readers should know automatically “at sight”, such as he,
the, was and where. This app covers the first 250HD sight words using a fun and
motivating game to keep kids learning. Learning to read is an important
milestone in every child’s life. Knowing these sight words makes fluent reading
easier, which lets the brain focus on the real enjoyment of reading –
comprehension – understanding and enjoying what you read. Eggs Words 250 is
brought to you by the team behind the popular educational website Reading Eggs.
Developed by educators with more than 20 years’ experience, the program comes
highly recommended by parents and teachers worldwide. Key features- 10 levels
with 25 words in each, making a total of 250 sight words, First 4 levels are
unlocked, Fun and motivating game suitable for children aged 3+ years, Most
common, highest frequency words are introduced first, Multisensory approach -
combining voice and written words, Choice of accents – Australia, English,
United States, Flying eggs with the correct word to be swiped, 3 lives per
level, Lives are lost when bad eggs, distractions and wrong words are swiped, Mini
eggs provide extra lives, Jigsaw eggs build a surprise jigsaw, The word is spelt
at the end of each lesson, Egg ratings to be earned for every level, Egg
critters with unique animations hatch at the end of a level, Bonus level with
100 golden eggs, Trophies earned for completing 25 levels. This is a fairly new
app coming out in May of this year but has a 4.8 rating. You can purchase this
app for $0.99 from Amazon.

Podcast Script
In today’s world it is all about technology for all ages
from infants to adults. When you look around more and more these day’s children
can be seen using computers, tablets, and even cell phones. From their early
years children are learning through this technology and need apps designed for
their brain development and growth. Educational apps help in this development
both mentally and with their hand eye coordination by keeping them interacting
with the on screen prompts. When picking out educational apps you want to keep
in mind the age range of the app for the child and pick apps that are of an
interest to the child. You don’t want to give a child an app that is above
their age range as it may be too hard for them to use; also an app that’s below
their development may not keep their interest in the app. Unlike when we were
children and our work was on worksheets and chalkboards, today’s technology is
mainly on screens even in the classroom. Due to our use of technologies our
children are exposed at a very young age and most know the basics of cell
phones and more before they start kindergarten. As the technology moves forward
we need to make sure that whatever apps we introduce to the devices that the
children use are suitable for their age group and safe for the child to have on
the device they are using.

Concise communication
To use concise communication is to always think about what
you’re going to say when you communicate because you don’t want to ramble or go
off topic.
Hat Tip
A hat tip is when you thank a person for information that
they have given you to use online. It is important to thank your sources for
information.

Colors of a blog
The
colors you pick for your blog should be colors that are pleasing on the eyes
and ones that allow for the text of your blog to be easily read on the
background colors for your blog.
Designing a blog
In designing a blog the best idea is to make sure you talk
about something that you're passionate about, this way you won’t lack
enthusiasm and it will not be found as boring.

Monkey Word School Adventure
The next educational app that I’m going to talk about is Monkey
Word School Adventure. The app age range
is really any age. Honestly my nephew does play this app from time to time but
it is a little harder for him because he is still young. In this app you will
find Spelling Stone- Monkey needs help with his spelling. He can show you what
it looks like, but do you know how to spell it? Use the magic gold letters to
solve the puzzle! Sight Birds- Monkey is looking for special gems and the sight
birds have them! Help him collect as many as you can before the time runs out!
Features letter recognition and sight words., Letter Writing- Learn to write
uppercase and lowercase letters by carving them in the ancient stone writing
wall., Phonics Bridge- Oh no the bridge is out and two little chinchillas are going
to miss their play date! Help them get together by fixing the bridge using the
engineering power of phonics!, Word Wall- Using and ancient map Monkey has
stumbled upon a mysterious puzzle. Help him solve it by finding all the words
on the map!, Rhyming Maze- Help a greedy little Chinchilla find his treasure
by drawing a path using words that rhyme, & Terrarium- Populate and
decorate your own interactive terrarium! Choose from tons of plants, frogs,
butterflies and dragonflies to create your own unique worlds. The only thing
that I don’t like in this game are the hints because they tell you were the
stuff is it’s not actually hints but the answers. This app is available on
amazon at the price of $1.99 and it has a 4.7 rating with 224 reviews mostly 5
star ratings. It’s available on Google play at the price of $1.99 but it has a
4.4 rating with 166 reviews mostly 5 star ratings. It is available on iTunes at
the price of $1.99 and it has no rating or reviews on iTunes.

Monkey Preschool Lunchbox app
My topic is about Educational apps for children. I am going
to be using the formats of Kindle Fire and iPhone 5 but mostly the Kindle Fire.
The first app that I’m going to talk about is Monkey Preschool Lunchbox. This
app I would range from age 3-6. This app is one of the apps that I use with my
nephew a lot and he’s always asking for monkey and he plays it all the time.
This app you find the different fruit, touch the shape, match the fruit, there
is a sticker area in the game as an award to encourage progress, put the fruit
back together, count the fruit, find the color, and the letter that the fruit
starts with are all the games in this wonderful game. If you happen to pick or
guess the wrong one the monkey will tell you by shaking its head and making a monkey
sound. This app is available on amazon at the price of $1.99 and it has a 4.5
rating with 653 reviews mostly 5 star ratings. It’s available on Google play at
the price of $1.99 but it has a 4.5 rating with 1,329 reviews mostly 5 star
ratings. It is available on iTunes at the price of $1.99 and it has a 4.0
rating with 118 reviews mostly 5 star ratings.

My Inspiration
My Inspiration came from 2 amazing children in my life they are my niece and nephew. When you think about your career when you are younger you don't really think about the people that will inspire you. I knew I always loved and wanted to work with children but it really didn't completely hit me until I was holding my nephew that is almost 4 years old then 2 years later when my niece was born now that I'm going to have another niece or nephew soon it's showing me even more that I want to work with children. Now I have not always persuade my degree in Early Childhood Education but I was going to do Graphic Design but then I changed my mind back to my true calling of teaching our future leaders.
